24C’s design consists of three main parts; the drive, the lift, and the intake. It features a six 4” omni wheel, four 393 motor tank drive, geared 1:1 for a perfect balance of speed and torque. The lift is a four-bar linkage, powered by four 393 motors geared 7:1, which gives us the ability to lift over 15 sacks. Our intake is a combination of a tank-tread conveyor bed and a top roller similar to a vacuum cleaner beater. The robot was designed to be strong, able to hold a bunch of sacks, and also fit under the troughs. Our strategy is to remove a bunch of sacks from the opponents’ trough, and then drop them into our own, for an effective double-point swing.
